RELATED: Things You Didn’t Know About The Lost Ark MMO

After seeing the game, it’s easy to tell why fans feel that way. Just like in other MMORPGs, Crowfall takes a bit of getting used to before players can truly excel in this new and open world filled with mysteries. Thankfully, there are plenty of guides out there to lend new players a hand — and plenty of tips like these.

10 Plan Your Build

This might be the first MMO some people have played. Understandably, not all MMOs are extremely attractive, and they certainly take a bit of getting used to. That is why it is important to plan a build ahead of time.

There is a convenient build planner online that players can use, which has all of the races and classes so new players can plan their build effectively. Take a look at all of the skills the character can obtain, and figure out if that is the right build for the character. Don’t blindly guess and hope for the best.

9 Experiment

Nobody will get the perfect build for them right away, so it is always important to experiment. Start with a character that sounds like it will be fun. If it is, that’s great. If it isn’t, don’t fret about it, and start over.

Players will typically have multiple characters in an MMO game. Plus, after understanding how the game works, it won’t take long to get a second or third character to max level. There is also a pedestal that players can use to level up if they have the gold for it.

8 Do The Tutorial

Many games have a tutorial to show players the ropes and get them ready for when the difficult stuff comes up. Gamers should always take part in the tutorial if the game is new. This will help in the future, and give a player a chance to understand more about the game’s mechanics and the world’s lore.

Crowfall’s tutorial also comes with a few benefits, like buffs and a mount. Players who skip out on the tutorial will have to purchase their own mount and waste the gold, unless they have the Backer Pack.

7 Enter God’s Reach

Many players suggest entering God’s Reach to start off. Whenever a new character joins in, they will spawn at Beach Head. Straight ahead of them will be an area where they can get some starting gear. The chests in this area have a fast respawn time, so even if there are a lot of people on the server, players won’t have to wait long to get some tools to start off with.

These tools will come in handy when gathering materials to use for crafting. As this is a large aspect of the game, players will need to have materials for it.

6 Understand How To Craft

Crafting in Crowfall is pretty straightforward. Go out into the world and gather materials, then jam them together to create another item. To be more specific, players can open their menu with the ‘I’ key and drag their materials into the slots that appear when they select what item they want to craft.

There are certain slots in this menu that are called Wildcard Slots. These slots won’t say a specific item; rather, they will say that one item or the other can be used. For instance, it may ask for either wood or stone. Whichever one a player adds into that slot will change the outcome of the item they are crafting.

5 Optimize Experience Gains

Eventually, players will need to enter combat with the various creatures that reside in the world of Crowfall. When this happens, players will be tempted to kill as much as they can to level up quickly. However, the best way to optimize experience gains is to not kill countless enemies.

Rather, pay attention to the experience bar and understand that excess experience doesn’t loop into the next level. If a player is close to leveling up, it is better to pick off one enemy at a time than destroy an entire group at once. The excess experience will just be wasted.

4 Join A Guild

One of the biggest pieces of advice that almost every player agrees on is that characters should join a guild as soon as possible. After all, MMORPGs are a team effort. They are meant to bring a community of players together, whether that be to battle one another or help each other out.

Joining a guild will give a host of benefits from extra materials, which can help with learning aspects of the game that a player might not understand yet. The human interaction also helps with the social aspect of the game. If possible, join the guild’s Discord server as well.

3 Don’t Forget To Export Items

Exporting is how players get to carry their items from one world to the next. Most players will start the game off by crafting various items, gathering weapons, and forging armor. These items will forever be useful in the world, and a player will want to hang onto them.

There are banks set up in Crowfall that allow players to transfer items between worlds. Before joining another world, make sure to place any important items in the bank, and grab them upon arrival in the new world.

2 Specialize Crafting

Sooner or later, players will notice that they need to optimize their storage and specialize their crafting skills. While it would be nice to be able to craft anything and everything that a player can dream of, that simply cannot be done.

Bank space will eventually run out, and players will realize that they are crafting more items than they can hold. Specializing in crafting armor or weapons can help increase the amount of space a player will have in their bank, and allow them to have room for more items.

1 The Value Of Gold

Gold can be used to purchase a wide range of items that can be useful for a new MMO player, but it comes at knowing the value of gold. Sure, a player can go around collecting resources and sell them all for gold. They can become very wealthy that way.

But what happens when all that gold just ends up sitting there? Don’t get rid of useful resources just because the gold seems like it would be nice to have in the future. It is best to sell items when a vendor has something a player wants or needs — don’t try to get rich just for the sake of it.
