With this rise in popularity comes a rise in players who want to be the best in the game and have the most optimized deck, the type of players that the gaming community lovingly calls try hards. The follower characters in the game add something truly special to the playing experience and should be recognized for this.
10 Crackshot Corsair
While not the most overtly powerful card in the age, not even close as we will get into some in just a bit, it’s what this card can do that gets here on this list. Crackshot Corsair casts Crackshot whenever an ally attacks, which does one damage to the enemy nexus.
This means that you can activate any plunder cards you have that turn basically guaranteed. Also considering how she only costs one mana, having three of these for guaranteed damage to the opponent’s nexus is a good option.
9 Tianna Crownguard
While on face value not all that interesting, Tianna Crownguard is dangerous because of the type of deck she can be added to. Tianna is a card from the Demacia region and that means she can be paired with her nephew, the champion Garen, as well as Lucian.

This means that on your opponent’s attack turn, you could possibly get to attack up to three times due to the rally ability all these cards have. Add in Tianna’s high base stats and toughness that lets her take reduced damage she is something that becomes very hard to deal with.
8 Sheriff Lariette Rose
Another new card that was added with the addition of the Bilgewater region to the game, Sheriff Lariette Rose really makes use of the new vulnerable mechanic that was introduced along with the new region. When played, Rose, who costs six mana, will give all enemies currently in play vulnerable, follower and champion alike.
This means that you will be able to target any one of your enemies cards with any one of your characters, which when used right, means that you could potentially take your whole enemy team out without losing yours.
7 Corina Veraza
Corina Vereza is a card from the Piltover and Zaun region and costs nine mana. Despite her having what most players would call fairly weak stats for her cost, having a six in both attack and health, she makes up for it with her ability.

When Corina is first put into play, she obliterates the top 5 cards in her user’s deck and any spell cards she obliterates cause one damage each to all enemies in play and the enemy nexus. If you have a spell heavy deck, which you probably will with her region, this can be a game-changer.
6 Citrus Courier
Yet another fairly new addition to the Legends Of Runeterra, the Citrus Courier card doesn’t look to special at first glance. It is a 6 cost follower with 4 points in attack and 5 health but once again it’s not just about how strong a card is, it’s what it can do.
The Citrus Courier has a Plunder condition, meaning you need to damage the enemy nexus or his ability won’t activate. If you meet this requirement, the Courier will heal all allies and your nexus for 3 health and Rally, meaning you can attack again.
5 Yone Windchaser
Yone Windchaser is one of the best cards to have in your deck, as in the late game he can provide a ton of openings for your team, especially if you have Yasuo in play.
Yone, when summon can stun two enemies of your choosing, this is already pretty solid on its own but when combined with his younger half brother Yasuo, means that you can damage and potentially destroy two of the more annoying enemy cards. This will also help level up Yasuo as he needs 5 cards stunned or recalled by you in order to level up.
4 Minah Swiftfoot
Minah Swiftfoot is kind of like tone Windchaser if he was on steroids. Minah is a 9 cost follower from Ionia, with 6 attack points and 5 health points and when summon she can recall 3 enemy cards.

This is similar to Yone because if Yasuo is in play on your side he can damage or even kill these cards before they are recalled, removing them from play, but even if not, forcing your opponent to resummon cards takes a lot of mana, usually multiple turns worth and opens them up for attack if you have the attack token.
3 The Leviathan
With the new addition of bilgewater came the addition of new champions for the different regions, along with ships for each of the new champions. These ships all draw their respective champion when played and also have another effect on top of that.
The Leviathan is Swain’s personal ship and when played draws him to your hand. It costs 8 mana and at the start of every round attacks the enemy nexus three times, adding to Swain’s level up condition.
2 She Who Wanders
This one gets nominated for one of the best card designs in the game. She Who Wanders is a card from the Freljord region and costs 10 mana, it has 10 points in both attack and health. When first played this card will obliterate all followers on both sides in play or in hand with 4 power or less.
This can be an absolute game-changer as if your opponent has weaker cards that out number you, it might be worth it to sacrifice some of your own cards to clear the field.
1 Commander Ledros
Commander Ledros is a card that makes every player whose is facing it grain in agony as it’s a card that is really hard to counter. Commander Ledros is a nine cost minion from the Shadow Isles region and has 9 points in attack and 6 in health with the fearsome trait, meaning that units under 3 power cannot block him. Even with those fairly impressive stats, Ledros becomes really dangerous is with his summon and last breath ability.
Every time Ledros is summoned he cuts the enemy nexuses health by half and when he is killed, he returns your hand instead of being removed from play. This means you can use his summon ability basically after every death.
